PFD applications paid in Alaska

About this data

The Permanent Fund Dividend — the annual payment to every eligible Alaskan,

and the most-watched number in the state each fall. One row per dividend

year, 1982–present, from the PFD Division's own summary table: the per-person

amount, applications paid, and total disbursed. The amount is the retail

side of Alaska's fiscal story (October distributions produce a visible

spending bump) and the political center of the POMV-vs-statutory fight.

Known issues & gotchas

• DataDome is active on pfd.alaska.gov (X-DataDome: protected header,

datadome.oit.alaska.gov in CSP) — same stack that hard-blocks

commerce.alaska.gov. Residential fetches work with a plain browser UA;

datacenter IPs are exactly what it blocks → runner: local.

• Supplement treatment is inconsistent in the source (verified from the

table): 2022's $3,284.00 INCLUDES the $662 energy-relief payment (base

was $2,622); 2008's $2,069.00 EXCLUDES the separate $1,200 resource

rebate. pfd_amount is therefore "as published"; a clean statutory

series would need hand adjustments — deliberately not done.

• Skip the header row and the Total footer row; strip $, ,, %.
• Percent Change is empty for 1982 and inconsistently formatted —

recompute it, never parse it.

• Applications Paid / Total Disbursed revise upward for a year or two

(late applications). The two most recent dividend years load with

is_prelim = true; vintages capture the creep.

• State Population appears in the table but AK DOL is the better source —

not emitted.
